The Young Americans are coming to Enterprise February 28 through March 1st. For those of you who have not seen this remarkable program and group of performers, you are in for a wonderful surprise. We are so fortunate they had a cancellation in their schedule and could bring their performance workshop to our community. Have a look at this video of some of the young folks in the troupe.
The Young Americans are a troupe of 44 young performers who travel around the country working with school children in grades 3 – 12 to stage a highly professional performance. Think of this as the Missoula Children’s Theater on steroids. The Young Americans brought their program to Enterprise in 2005 with 75 local kids participating; in 2009, 150 children participated. The goal this year is 200 students, and we hope you’ll help spread the word.
The cost is $59 per child, so we are helping to raise funds to provide scholarships for as many as possible. Any of you who have kids in the grade 3 to grade 12 age group, this is a wonderful opportunity for your child. The MusicAlliance, along with our program Dulcimer Week in the Wallowas (directed by Heidi Muller) will be sponsoring 20 Wallowa County students to participate, and offer a challenge to you: Match this amount!
You can make your sponsorship contribution easily online HERE, and we thank you for your support.
There is also a need for host families, so if you have an extra room, please contact Janet Graham at 541-398-0451.
